Eva L. Scheller
Assistant Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences
Prof. Scheller leads the Stanford Planetary Chemistry and Spectroscopy Lab (SPCSL). Her research program investigates the surface chemistry and long-term volatile evolution of terrestrial and icy worlds.
At its experimental core is a temperature controlled ultra-high-vacuum and irradiation environmental chamber and spectroscopy/mass spec laboratory that recreates chemical measurements of a broad-range of planetary surface environments. We are specifically searching for motivated experimental chemistry/physics/geologist PhD applicants to work in this laboratory, please contact Prof. Scheller!
At its computational core, we develop spaceflight instrumentation for planetary surface chemistry and numerical, probabilistic, and autonomous methods for extracting robust chemical knowledge from planetary observations.
